Build. Connect. Lead.

Unlock the Power of Shared Thinking with LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP)

At EQuest Asia, we turn ideas into shared understanding and conversations into meaningful action. Whether you need to energize a large-scale conference or want to become a certified facilitator, we help you build the future—one brick at a time.

Don’t Just Talk About Change. Build It.

We believe learning happens best when people build, share, and reflect together. Conventional meetings and training often leave 80% of the audience disengaged.
At EQuest Asia, we use the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology to change that dynamic. By thinking with your hands, you unlock new neural pathways, foster deep listening, and bridge cultural gaps. With us, every brick becomes a voice, and every structure becomes a shared story of discovery.

Move past surface-level discussion into deep, generative thinking that produces breakthrough insights and shared meaning.

Replace passive listening with active participation where every person contributes their unique perspective and expertise.

Transcend language and cultural barriers through visual metaphors that communicate across differences and build genuine understanding.

Achieve in hours what traditional methods take days to accomplish — creating clarity, commitment, and collective ownership.

Create memorable experiences that participants carry forward, making insights sticky and action more likely to happen.

Built on research in constructionism, play theory, and organizational development — not just a fun activity, but a rigorous methodology.

The Science Behind the Bricks

Why LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is More Than a Game

In a world of endless PowerPoint presentations and passive meetings, true engagement is rare.
The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method is a scientifically formulated process designed to solve complex problems,
enhance communication, and accelerate learning. LSP is not just a method—it’s a mindset.

1. The Hand-Mind Connection

Neuroscience shows that our hands are connected to 70-80% of our brain cells. When you think with your hands, you unlock neural pathways that traditional "talk-only" meetings cannot reach. This process—called embodied cognition—allows participants to access subconscious knowledge and express ideas more clearly.

2. The 100/100 Rule

In standard meetings, 20% of the people do 80% of the talking. In an LSP session, we follow the 100/100 rule: 100% of the participants are engaged 100% of the time. There is no "leaning back." Everyone builds, everyone shares, and every voice is heard.

3. Psychological Safety

LSP creates a safe environment for difficult conversations. When sharing an idea, the focus is on the model, not the person. This detachment allows teams to discuss sensitive topics—culture, strategy, or conflict—without the fear of personal judgment.

4. A Universal Language

Complex ideas are often lost in translation. LEGO® bricks act as a universal language that transcends hierarchy, culture, and background. A brick is a brick, whether you are a CEO or an intern, creating a truly level playing field for collaboration.

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology

A research-backed facilitation approach that unlocks team creativity, builds shared understanding,
and drives meaningful collaboration across organizations worldwide.

Why Use LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® at work?

Whether exploring organizational culture, strategic challenges, or team dynamics, this methodology transforms how people think, communicate, and solve problems together.

Frequently Asked Questions

LSP is a facilitated methodology that uses LEGO® bricks as a tool for thinking, communication, and problem-solving. It allows participants to build models that represent their ideas, then share the meaning behind them. This process creates deeper understanding, faster alignment, and stronger commitment than traditional discussions.

LSP develops reflective and empathetic leaders. It encourages leaders to explore challenges through storytelling, uncover hidden assumptions, and embrace diverse perspectives. The methodology sharpens skills in listening, strategic foresight, and emotional intelligence—key qualities for modern leadership.

Not at all. LSP is not about building “pretty” models—it’s about the meaning behind them. Even participants who haven’t touched LEGO® since childhood can engage fully. In fact, the simplicity of the bricks helps unlock creativity in everyone.

That’s a common concern, but LSP is not about playing—it’s about thinking with your hands. The methodology is backed by research in psychology, systems thinking, and learning science. Once participants see how the bricks help them express complex ideas and be truly heard, resistance usually disappears.

Equal participation is at the core of LSP. The facilitator designs the process so that everyone builds, everyone shares, and everyone listens. No one can dominate the discussion or sit silently. This structured approach ensures inclusion and psychological safety, making LSP especially valuable in diverse teams.

Yes. A certified facilitator ensures that the process is structured, inclusive, and aligned with the methodology. At EQuest Asia, our facilitators bring decades of international experience, ensuring high-quality outcomes tailored to your organization’s needs.

Our 2-day Train-the-Trainer program is designed to be highly concentrated and practical. Instead of spreading the learning across 4 days, we focus on immersion, hands-on practice, and immediate application.
Participants walk away fully certified, with the same level of mastery as in longer formats – but with less time away from work and lower cost.

Our manual is also very step to step for new LSP facilitator. It’s intense, experiential, and tailored to professionals who want results fast.

Our certification is followed by 1:1 coaching support, group coaching, peer practice, LMS so you’re not left alone after the workshop. That’s something most 4-day trainings don’t provide.
You’ll get all the knowledge, plus tailored guidance for your first real sessions.

Our LSP Train the Trainer Certification is issued by EQuest Asia, an organisation with over 30 years of international experience in leadership development and facilitation. While there isn’t a single global governing body for LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® certifications, our program is based on the internationally recognised open-source methodology, and EQuest Asia has trained and worked with leaders, coaches, and facilitators across Asia, Europe, Australia.

Because of EQuest Asia’s international track record and reputation, our certification is widely respected and enables facilitators to confidently apply LSP in global contexts. Many of our graduates successfully deliver workshops with multinational organisations, NGOs, and institutions around the world.

LSP is designed for adults. While LEGO® bricks are often associated with childhood, the methodology was developed specifically for business, leadership, and organizational challenges. The hands-on, minds-on approach taps into creative thinking and problem-solving skills that adults often underuse in traditional settings. The process allows professionals to explore complex ideas, align strategies, and unlock innovation—far beyond “play.”

Yes. LSP is a powerful method for both strategy and team building. In strategy, it helps organizations visualize complex systems, test scenarios, and co-create roadmaps. In team building, it ensures every voice is heard, strengthens collaboration, and creates a shared sense of purpose.

Absolutely. LSP reduces barriers of language, hierarchy, and culture. Because participants build first and talk after, it levels the playing field, making it especially effective in multicultural groups. In education, it fosters creativity, problem-solving, and collaborative learning—whether in classrooms or executive training.

LSP can be applied to a wide range of challenges:
  • Vision and strategy development
  • Team alignment and culture-building
The ROI of LSP is seen in the outcomes: faster alignment, clearer strategies, stronger team cohesion, and more innovative solutions. Many organizations find that even a single session saves weeks of meetings and unlocks ideas that traditional workshops fail to capture.
Outcomes vary by objective, but participants typically leave with:
  • A clearer and more aligned understanding of key challenges
  • New perspectives and insights that hadn’t surfaced before
  • Stronger trust, empathy, and collaboration within the group
  • Practical action plans or shared visions that everyone supports
  • A sense of energy, creativity, and ownership of solutions
In short, participants walk away with both tangible results and a renewed sense of connection.
  • Innovation and design thinking
  • Change management and transformation
  • Leadership development and succession planning
  • Education and intercultural training
